Learning the Bagpipes

The Sydney School of Piping & Drumming commenced in 1998 to cater for the ever growing interest and demand of people wanting professional quality tuition on a regular basis.

Since that time students who have passed through the school have gone on to compete at World Championships with the Lochelly High School Band in Juvenile and in Grade 1 with Dysart & Dundonald Pipe Band, The Boghall & Bathgate Caledonia Pipe Band and the most "capped" World Champion band in the World, The House of Edgar, Shotts & Dykehead Caledonia.

We have also taught students who have gone on the win Juvenile solo competitions in Scotland.

If you are interested in learning how to play the bagpipe, private lessons are held in Colyton NSW. We also do recorded web lessons and SKYPE lessons. Group lessons are available Monday between 4pm - 7pm, Thursday's between 5pm - 7pm in Windsor and Tuesday's at St.Ives between 4pm - 9pm.

Our tutors have developed a teaching technique known as the Millennium Method. This method uses traditional techniques whilst combining a modern approach to music theory education.

Barry has been teaching young children and adults to play the bagpipes since 1983. And over that time, as the above pictures show, he has constantly taught complete bands of young children "from scratch" He has devoted over a 1/4 of a century to supplying many people with the a gift that will last them a lifetime - MUSIC.
